Cory Loewen Software developer by trade, gamer by preference. First RPG: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (mutant weasels) Joshua Buergel Josh has been a gamer literally longer than he can remember. He still has his copy of the old D&D blue book with the dragon on the cover, complete with grape juice stain. He was regularly busted in the 2nd grade reading the D&D Expert set and rolling up intelligent swords in class. From half-baked role-playing campaigns with his friend Tim Hodler, to Infocom games, to Nofriendo, card games and Games Workshop games on to collectable card games, wargames and just good ol' board games, he's pretty much played anything and everything. Most high school kids got in trouble staying out too late partying. He would get in trouble staying out too late playing Bridge. Sad. He's always dreamed of starting a game company, because the dreams of a geek always run towards the geeky. When Cory became unemployed and unemployable, he jumped at the chance to throw some money away with him. It's worth it, just so he can casually drop the fact that he owns a game company into casual conversation. Not that anybody is impressed, mind you. It's funny nobody is impressed by that old D&D book either. Aaron Williams We were fortunate to work with such a talented artist as Aaron. His illustrations are what make Ascension at Firepeak look as great as it does (we love the Ogre). He's moved from doing yellow page ads to drawing his comics for a living, which kind of makes us here at the House of Slack jealous. These days, he's mainly known for drawing the excellent comic book Nodwick, a bi-monthly publication from Dork Storm Press. You can check out his work at www.nodwick.com. It's funny stuff. |
